When can I collect and return rentals?

Collections and returns are available by appointment only and during our business hours, which you can find on our Contact Us page.

Appointments are simple to arrange and will be scheduled as part of the quoting process.

Need flexibility? After-hours pickup or return is available with prior booking and additional fees apply.

For security and quality assurance, we do not offer unstaffed collection or return. This helps protect the owners of the rental items and ensures you receive the best possible service.

Can I rent equipment outside of the metro area?

Yes, we offer rentals throughout Western Australia. While our primary service area is within the metro region, we also cater to regional areas.

For customers outside the metro:
- Pickup is available from our location.
- Freight or Delivery can be arranged at an additional cost.

Please contact us to discuss delivery options and associated fees for your specific location.

Please note: Rented items are not permitted to leave Western Australia under any circumstances without prior written consent.

Who can collect rentals?

Only the primary contact who made the enquiry and signed the rental agreement is authorised to collect the rental items, unless prior written approval has been given for someone else to do so. Please ensure valid photo ID is presented at the time of collection.

Does my gear need to be in working order to be listed as a rental?

Yes, all items must meet our quality and safety standards before being listed.

- All electrical items must be tested and tagged in accordance with Australian safety regulations.
- All equipment must be in full working order and ready for immediate use.
- Props, scenic items, and other non-electrical items must be accurately described and in good usable condition.

To help you meet these requirements, we offer repair, maintenance, and test & tag services. We highly encourage you to take advantage of these services to ensure your gear is rental-ready and compliant.

How do I get the most out of my listed rental items?

To increase your rental success and income, consider the following tips:

Spread the word - Promote your listings through social media, industry groups, and word of mouth. The more people know your gear is available, the more likely it is to be rented.

Keep pricing competitive - Set your rates at an economical level to attract more renters while still ensuring a good return.

Use high-quality photos and clear descriptions - Make your listing stand out with accurate, detailed information and professional-looking images.

Keep your gear in top condition - well-maintained equipment is more likely to be rented again and recommended.

What is the maximum length of a rental?

Standard rentals can typically be arranged for up to 10 weeks. If you're looking to rent for a longer period, the request will be subject to additional approvals from both the item owner and Haze Technical. Please allow additional time for processing.

Extended rental rates may differ from standard pricing and will be quoted accordingly.

Maintenance or servicing may be required for longer-term rentals depending on the item.

Can I inspect the item before renting?

Yes, inspections can be arranged by appointment. Contact us to schedule a time.

All warehouse access is by appointment only.

How long does it take to arrange a rental?

We aim to be as prompt as possible, but please allow up to 2 weeks from your initial enquiry to final confirmation. The timeline can vary depending on several factors, including:

Item availability
Owner approval
Complexity of the rental (e.g. logistics, special handling, or custom requirements)

You can help speed up the process by promptly - Approving your quote, completing the customer     information form, signing the rental agreement and making payment.

If your request is urgent, please contact us directly. We’ll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

Consumables & Fluids

If your rental item requires fluids or consumables (e.g.hazers, bubble machines, or smoke machines), please note the following:

Return Requirement- Items must be returned with the same amount of fluid or consumables as when collected. If not, replenishment fees will apply.

Correct Usage - Only the approved fluids or consumables may be used with each item. Using incorrect products can cause damage and may result in additional charges.

Do Not Operate Dry- Items must not be used without the required fluids or consumables, this can lead to malfunction or damage.

Need Fluids? We offer fluid sales! Just let us know in advance so we can have them ready for you.

What if I need to change the duration of your rental?

You can request an extension through the app or by contacting us. Extensions are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.

Early returns are allowed, but rental fees are charged based on the original booking period unless otherwise arranged.

Can I cancel a rental?

Yes, cancellations are allowed, but there are important conditions to be aware of:

Rental fees are charged upfront and are non-refundable once payment has been made. Once an item is booked, it becomes unavailable to other renters, so accuracy and commitment to your booking are essential.

A rental may be cancelled with advanced written notice, prior to payment being processed.

What should I do if the gear I rented is damaged?

If you discover that the rented gear is damaged, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options in line with the terms of the rental agreement. Prompt communication helps us resolve the issue quickly and fairly for all parties involved.

Can I rent my items for free?

Yes, you can choose to rent your items for free, but we advise against it, as it does not support the sustainability of our service. If you do choose this option, there are two ways to proceed:

1. Storage Withdrawal
You may collect your item for personal use without listing it as a rental. In this case: You must be present to collect the item. We will not complete a condition report or register the booking.
2. List as a Rental (at $0)
You can list the item as a rental at no cost to the renter. However, Haze Technical will still charge standard handling and processing fees at the listed rate to facilitate the rental.

Please consider setting a nominal fee to help cover operational costs and support the platform.

Can I update or remove my listing?

Yes, you can update your item’s details, pricing, or availability at any time through the rental app. You can also remove your listing if you no longer wish to rent it out.

What happens if my item is returned late?

Late returns will incur additional fees. We encourage renters to communicate any delays in advance. You’ll be notified if your item is not returned on time.

Is my rental gear insured while it's being rented?

Haze Technical do not provide insurance coverage for individual rental items and do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to your property while it is out on hire. It is the owner’s responsibility to arrange appropriate insurance for their items at all times, including during transit and while in use by renters. We strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider to ensure your gear is adequately covered for rental use.

Does Haze Technical take a fee?

Yes. Haze Technical takes a 25% fee from the total rental amount including GST to cover facilitation and handling costs.

For example:
If your item is rented for $100 including GST, $25 goes to Haze Technical $75 goes to you via invoice.

This fee helps us maintain the platform, provide support services, and ensure smooth rental operations.

I can't find what I'm looking for to rent. What should I do?

Our current listings might not have exactly what you’re after, but we’re here to help. Reach out to our team and let us know what you’re looking for we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction or let you know if something suitable becomes available.

Do any items have special handling requirements?

Yes– due to the nature and variety of items we offer, some may have specific handling requirements.

These instructions must be followed throughout your rental period to ensure safety and proper use. Please note: if additional labour is required to meet these handling needs (as specified by the item’s owner), extra fees may apply.

These charges are non-negotiable.

When and how are payments made and reimbursed to me?

Haze Technical handles all rental payments securely through our platform. We offer credit card and other payment options, with standard processing fees applied.

Once a rental is complete and the items returned, Haze Technical will issue a purchase order of any amounts owing to you. From here you can invoice the amount and enjoy your rental income.

When do I pay for my rental?

To protect our valued storage customers, all rental fees must be paid upfront and prior to collection. This ensures a smooth and secure rental process for everyone involved.

We offer a range of secure payment options, including credit card, with applicable processing fees.

What Terms and Conditions apply to Haze Technical's services?

All services provided by Haze Technical fall under our General Terms and Conditions.

Additional agreements apply depending on the nature of the service

Storage services are covered by a Storage Agreement.
Rental of listed items is governed by an On-Hire Consent Agreement.
Each individual rental is subject to a signed Rental Agreement.

We recommend reviewing the relevant agreements carefully before engaging our services. If you have any questions, our team is happy to assist.

Can I list any storage item for rental?

No. Only items that meet the following criteria can be listed for rental:

The item must be part of your managed inventory.
It must be in good working order and meet our quality standards.

This ensures a consistent and reliable experience for rentersand protects the reputation of all contributors.

Can I choose which of my stored items to list for rental?

Yes, they’re your items, and you’re in control. During the registration process, you can choose which items you’d like to list for rental. Any items you prefer not to rent out will not appear on the rental app and will remain in storage only.

You can update your preferences at any time.

How do I prevent my items from being rented when I need it?

By defualt, Haze Technical confirms availability with you prior to any rental. If you need to use one of your listed rental items, you are responsible for confirming it's availbilty prior to confirming a rental through us.

You may also reserve the item in advance by contacting us.  

This ensures the item is marked as unavailable to others during your selected dates.

Can I deny a rental request for my item?

By default, Haze Technical confirms availability with the item owner before finalising any rental. At this stage, you'll receive the renter's name and requested dates, and you’ll have the opportunity to approve or decline the booking.
