Community Rentals

As an owner using Haze Storage, you can choose to rent out your technical and event equipment to others within the Arts community, making professional gear more accessible while directly supporting the WA creative industry. Any item stored on-site can be made available for hire, with all rentals facilitated and managed by Haze.

Through this model, we keep valuable resources in use, reducing waste and improving access to gear across the sector. The sustainable system we offer creates a simple and transparent rental process, giving everyone access to the equipment they need, and owners the opportunity to offset their storage costs.

How It Works

1. Sign Up & Browse

Create an account to access the rental marketplace. From here, you can browse available equipment, view pricing, and build your booking with your required dates.

2. Confirm & Pay

Submit your request and we’ll confirm availability. Once approved, you’ll receive your invoice and rental agreement to review, sign, and pay prior to collection.

3. Collect & Use

Collect your equipment on the scheduled day, we’ll have everything prepared and ready to go. Use the gear as needed, with support available if required.

If delivery is booked we will deliver rented items direct to site.

4. Return

Return your items on the agreed date. We’ll check everything back in and handle the rest.

FAQs

Collection & Return Days

Standard collections and returns take place between 08:00 and 16:00 on Tuesdays. Your preferred collection time will be confirmed during the booking process.

This structured schedule helps streamline operations and keep rental costs lower, providing better overall value.All warehouse access is by appointment only, with bookings arranged as part of your rental confirmation.

After-hours or alternative day collections and returns can be accommodated with prior arrangement, noting that additional fees may apply.

For added flexibility, delivery bookings can be scheduled on any business day, allowing equipment to arrive when and where it’s needed.

For security and quality assurance, unstaffed collections and returns are not available. This ensures all equipment is checked, handled correctly, and provided in the best possible condition.

Can I rent equipment outside of the metro area?

We offer rentals across Western Australia, with our primary service area based in the Perth metro region. For customers outside the metro area:

Pickup is available from our warehouse
Delivery or freight can be arranged at an additional cost

Delivery bookings can also be scheduled to suit your project requirements, please contact us to discuss options and pricing for your location.

Please note, rented equipment must remain within Western Australia unless prior written approval is provided.

Who can collect rentals?

Only the primary contact who made the enquiry and signed the rental agreement is authorised to collect the rental items, unless prior written approval has been given for someone else to do so. Please ensure valid photo ID is presented at the time of collection.

Rental Period

Standard rental periods are weekly, with a maximum hire duration of up to 10 weeks.

Longer-term bookings may be accommodated on request, depending on equipment availability and scheduling.

Can I view items before renting?

Yes, equipment inspections can be arranged by appointment prior to booking. Please contact us to schedule a suitable time.

All warehouse access is by appointment only, ensuring equipment is presented correctly and available for viewing.

Rental Lead Times

Please allow up to 2 weeks from initial enquiry to your pickup date to ensure there is sufficient time to process and confirm your booking.

In many cases, turnaround may be faster. However, this timeframe allows for availability checks, owner approvals, and booking confirmation, helping avoid delays. Bookings made less than 2 weeks prior to the requested pickup date may not be processed in time and may not be ready for collection until confirmed.

Please also note that cannot be placed after 4:00pm on Thursdays for the following week’s collection. If your request is urgent, please contact us directly and we’ll do our best to accommodate where possible.

Consumables & Fluids

For equipment that requires fluids or consumables (such as hazers, smoke machines, or bubble machines), please note the following:

Correct Usage
Only approved fluids and consumables may be used with each item. Using incorrect products can cause damage and may result in additional charges.

Do Not Operate Dry
Equipment must not be operated without the required fluids or consumables, as this can lead to malfunction or damage.

Fluid Supply & Refills
All applicable units are supplied filled and ready for use. There is no need to refill consumables prior to return. If additional fluids are required, we can arrange this for purchase—just let us know in advance so we can have it ready for your booking.

Late Returns

If you require more time, extensions can be requested by contacting us in advance. Extensions are subject to availability and will incur additional rental fees. If the equipment is not available for extension, it must be returned on the agreed date.

Late returns without prior notice may result in additional charges, and you will be responsible for any losses or impacts caused while the equipment remains in your possession.

Early returns are permitted; however, rental fees are based on the original booking period.

Cancellations

Cancellations are permitted; however, the following conditions apply:

Rental fees are charged upfront and are non-refundable once payment has been made. Once an item is booked, it is removed from availability for other users, so commitment to your booking is essential.

Cancellations can be made prior to payment with written notice. If you need to cancel, please contact us as early as possible to allow adjustments where feasible.

Damage

If you discover that the rented gear is damaged, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options in line with the terms of the rental agreement. Prompt communication helps us resolve the issue quickly and fairly for all parties involved.

Is Pricing Negotiable?

Pricing is set by equipment owners and supports storage, maintenance, and service costs. We cannot adjust rates directly. Any alternative pricing must be arranged with the owner outside our system.

Insurance

Haze Technical does not provide insurance coverage for rental items.

The renter is responsible for ensuring all equipment is appropriately insured at all times, including during collection, transit, and use, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

We strongly recommend confirming your coverage with your insurance provider prior to hire to ensure all responsibilities are met. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions and Rental Agreement for full details regarding insurance and liability.

Sub-Hires

If our current listings don’t have exactly what you’re after, we’re here to help. Get in touch with our team and let us know your requirements, we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction or notify you if suitable equipment becomes available.

Where possible, we can also facilitate sub-hires through trusted local production companies, providing a single, streamlined process for sourcing additional equipment.

Special Handling Requirements

Some equipment may have specific handling or operational requirements due to its nature. These instructions must be followed throughout the hire period to ensure safe and correct use.

Where additional labour or specialised handling is required (as specified by the equipment owner), extra fees may apply. These requirements and any associated costs will be communicated as part of the booking process and are non-negotiable.
